All different shapes and sizes… Every single one of these athletes is a certified bad-ass.

The reason why this is a relevant post is because skill sets have little to do with appearance.

The Martial Culture, the culture of the fight gyms, tells us that fighting produces and nurtures Manliness.

Manliness is the ability and willingness to fight.

Manliness includes fight skills, a trained and conditioned body and most importantly the Moral Virtues of Humility, Integrity, Selflessness, Self Control and always show Respect.

Manliness is earned.

We fighters don’t care what you look like! All we care about is your ability and willingness to fight!

The Consumer Culture, our dominant culture, tells us that Manliness is all about appearances.

You “buy” your Manliness, to “appear” Manly.

This includes the right clothes, the right car/truck, the right place to live, the right education , the right body (drug induced in many cases) and even the right life partner.

All media, including social media, support this belief through advertising. Billions of dollars are spent annually to make us believe this.

Appearances are everything in this culture.

The pictures above prove that the Consumer Culture is totally wrong.
