Transgender/Dysphoria Question
Is it ok if when talking to a transgender male (idk if I’m using that term right? I mean FTM) I refer to him as sis? Like for example,
Him: “I have drama”
Me: “spill the tea, sis!”
It’s just a phrase and stuff and I use it when talking to all my guy friends who were born with their assigned gender, so idk if it would be dysphoric to use it?
talk to him about it first, it’s different for everyone. i despise when people call me “sis” but some don’t mind it. when it comes to anything that could be a potential dysphoria trigger, assume it is one until stated otherwise

It depends on the person. If you have a friend who is a trans guy you could just ask “hey, does this make you uncomfortable?”. If it’s someone you’re not close with/don’t know very well, i’d err on the side of caution and not say it because for some people it does trigger dysphoria. beeblemonade posted this
